PROJECT GOAL

The goal of the project is to improve the tourism by organizing the Motor Sports event in the region.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • To develop strong motor sport –related products through partnership working using the ‘cluster approach’ as a way of strengthening competitive capability.
  • To reposition “motor sports entertainment” as a tourism product, which brings added value earning to the locals.

Tourism benefits

The economic benefits to the region extend beyond the motor sport industry. Motor sport exists essentially to provide entertainment for the public and what is often overlooked is the contribution made by tourism related expenditure. Motor sport events and activities play an important role in generating tourism and leisure day visits to the area. The region has an Indian National Racing Championship (INRC) standard motor racing circuit which can host premier speed racing events. Several other professional races and rallies can also take place across the region.

Visitors often require other services such as somewhere to stay, somewhere to eat/drink and local transportation to get them from A to Z. Such needs provide potential opportunities for a host of other businesses.

To maximize the tourism benefits that flow from motor sport events and activities in the region, there needs to be joint working between the motor sport venues and tourism related businesses.

In organizing the Motor Sports event in the region will showcase the nation and the world; the rich and vibrant culture of the Garos, the beauty of the nature, unique cuisine of the region and some of the tourism hotspots existing in the region to the outside world.

The Motor Sports events are one of the fast-growing activities in the region which have continuously attracted many people of the region as well as from outside the region as a participant or supporting teams or spectators. Past Motor Sports event in Tura has attracted many drivers from outside the state and from the mainland India as well. ‘BILGARO CHALLENGE 2021’ is set to attract more people to travel to the region. The event will also pose a challenge for the local drivers to aim at major national Motor Sports events which will encourage the country to promote local tourism through the sport. Sporting activities are so important in the development of the tourism industry in any country since many people enjoy such activities and have always travelled in order to engage in them.

The event will also help in encouraging the local drivers to attest their skills against the country’s best drivers. The event will also leave behind a memorable history for the people surrounding areas through which the vehicles will be passing.

Tura Motor Sports Club believes that it has certain advantages, of which the edge comes from a) its reliance and its own knowledge, expertise and key contact for navigating the political, governmental and community hurdles. By incorporating local professionals who know the lay of the land, Tura Motor Sports Club believes it will address local obstacles before they arise, tap into the necessary resources and expertise when appropriate and necessary and ultimately navigate a path to a successful event, and (b) the advantage that we are working with a values based value – that we are operating a no profit no loss community activity.

Marketing Strategy

Tura Motor Sports Club believes that its relationships and ability to operate effectively within the region, makes Tura Motor Sports Club well qualified to organize the BILGARO CHALLENGE 2021. Of importance to our marketing strategy will be our ability to bring value to the event for participants, sponsors, and patrons as well as the community.

Current Experience indicates that, Motor Sports is one of the most popular spectator sports in the region. We believe, however, that the demographic profile of Motor Sports’ growing base of spectators has considerable appeal to sponsors and advertisers, including leading consumer product and manufacturing companies which have become significant participants in the Motor Sports industry. Tura Motor Sports Club intends to market the BILGARO CHALLENGE 2021 in certain traditional media, such as newspapers and motorsport journals as well as Social media. Our marketing will also consist of the direct solicitation of prospective event sponsors, who we believe will be attracted by the prospect of exposure to a large spectator crowd. Tura Motor Sports Club also believes that sponsors may see opportunities to use the BILGARO Challenge 2021 as part of their own marketing programs, and Tura Motor Sports Club intends to cooperate with such sponsor marketing efforts.

General Sales

Tura Motor Sports Club is planning to provide a full range of entertainment free of charge.

Management Summary

Its founders and original management team manage Tura Motor Sports Club. The organization has established relationships with leading professionals from across the region and around the state who can be called upon and who could be instrumental in the annual operation of the event. The temporary sprint and hill climb team is comprised of highly trained and experienced professionals, many of which work on organizing and operating, such events in the past. Tura Motor Sports Club intends to engage such individuals to conduct its event safely.

Personnel Plan

Tura Motor Sports Club intends to have 10 principle Executive consultants who will oversee and operate the management and progress of BILGARO CHALLENGE 2021. A small full time staff will assist them.

Projections

BILGARO CHALLENGE 2021’s financial plan is based on important assumptions and projections from the government sponsorship, corporate sponsorship, donations from interested individuals and the contribution from the members.
